Neighborhood lockdown lifted after police situation in Huron Township

HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A police situation in Huron Township came to an end early Wednesday.

Beginning Tuesday evening, police surrounded a home in the area of Huron Road, King Road  and Huron River Drive.

There were reports of a fire at the home earlier Tuesday. When officials arrived they discovered something they said is very concerning: the home was barricaded.

Shortly after midnight Wednesday, police entered the home and discovered a person dead. Police believe the person took their own life.
