Teens arrested in Harper Woods pizza delivery robberies
HARPER WOODS, Mich. – An 18-year-old Harper Woods resident and a 16-year-old are accused of robbing delivery drivers of pizza and money.
Police said the first robbery happened at the Balfour Apartments at 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 and the second robbery happened in the same area on Williamsburg Court at 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 19. The delivery drivers reported getting robbed at the delivery points orders that had been placed over the phone.
Neither driver was injured during the robberies. Police said the suspects used an application to conceal the phone number they called in the delivery from. Thursday Davaughn Maurice Jones and a 16-year-old were arrested, accused of being involved in the robberies.
Jones was charged with one count of unarmed robbery and given a $2,500 cash bond and ordered to wear a GPS tether with house arrest. He has a preliminary examination date scheduled for Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
The 16-year-old is expected to be charged through the Wayne County 3rd Circuit Juvenile Court.
