MSP: Flint man dies after crossing center line, crashing into another car without wearing seat belt

40-year-old man pronounced dead at hospital

ROSE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police said a Flint man was killed when he crossed the center line of an Oakland County road and crashed into another car without wearing his seat belt.

The crash happened around 7:25 a.m. Thursday on Hickory Ridge Road between Pellett Drive and Sackner Road in Rose Township.

Troopers said a 40-year-old Flint man was driving a Chevrolet Malibu north on Hickory Ridge Road when he lost control and crossed the center line.

The Malibu went into the path of a Buick passenger car, and the two cars collided, according to authorities.

Police said the Flint man was not wearing his seat belt.

Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital, officials said. The Flint man was pronounced dead, medical officials said.

The driver of the Buick suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Michigan State Police continue to investigate the crash.
