Speeding Porsche crashes into second story of building, killing driver, passenger in New Jersey

Victims were 22 and 23 years old

Two men are dead after losing control of a red 2010 Porsche Boxster convertible and crashing into a building in Toms River, New Jersey Sunday at approximately 6:30 a.m., according to police.

Braden DeMartin, 22 of Toms River, was driving the car at a “high rate of speed” northbound on Hooper Avenue before he lost control, hit the center median and collided with an embankment, causing the car to become airborne before crash landing into the second story of an office building, according to the Toms River Police Department.

DeMartin and Daniel Foley, 23 of Toms River, who was in the passenger seat were both found dead at the scene of the accident when emergency responders arrived.

Hooper Avenue was closed between Indian Hill Road and College Drive until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

The accident is still under investigation by city traffic safety officials.
