Body found in burned, snow-covered car in vacant area on Detroit’s east side

Police struggle to find witnesses

DETROIT – Police are investigating after a body was found Tuesday morning in a burned, snow-covered car on Detroit’s east side.

The body was found at 9:42 a.m. near Elgin Street and Gilbo Avenue, a vacant area. Because of this, police are struggling to find witnesses.

Police said they received a call about a car that had been burned. They looked inside the car and found the body, officials said.

Detroit police are trying to figure out how long the car was at the location since it was covered in snow. They aren’t sure how it got there.
