Officials arrest man for illegally entering home without owner’s permission

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A man was arrested last weekend after he drunkenly stumbled into the wrong Royal Oak home in the middle of the night, police said.

Officials said the incident happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 1200 block of Fifth Street.

The homeowner told police he heard noises in his house and discovered an unknown man inside.

When confronted, the man asked the homeowner to use his phone, police said. The homeowner told him to leave, and he complied, according to authorities.

Officers said they found the man a short distance away. He was intoxicated and had mistakenly entered the house through an unlocked front door, police said.

He was arrested for illegal entry without owner’s permission, according to officials.
