Women from Warren, Royal Oak injured in fight over parking spot, police say

Women issued misdemeanor citations for fighting in public

TROY, Mich. – A woman from Warren and a woman from Royal Oak were injured during a fight over a parking spot at a restaurant in Troy, police said.

Officers were called at 11:52 a.m. Thursday to the La Marsa restaurant parking lot at 3720 Rochester Road in Troy, according to authorities.

A 57-year-old Warren woman and a 47-year-old Royal Oak woman had gotten into an argument over a parking spot when the confrontation turned physical, officials said.

During the fight, the Royal Oak woman was knocked to the ground, cut the back of her head and possibly broke her wrist, police said. She was taken to a nearby hospital by medical officials, authorities said.

The Warren woman had a swollen thumb but declined medical treatment, according to officials.

A witness told police the women were equally hitting each other with slaps and kicks to the shins.

Both women were issued misdemeanor citations for fighting in public and released, according to authorities.
