‘Sesame Street’ puppeteer behind Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch dies at 85

He died at his Connecticut home

The legendary voice behind two of Sesame Street’s most-beloved characters has died at the age of 85.

Caroll Spinney was the puppeteer behind Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch.

He died Sunday at his home in Connecticut after living with the movement disorder dystonia.

Spinney retired from Sesame Street last year.
