28-year-old man charged in armed robberies of University of Michigan students

Students walking alone were targeted

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 28-year-old man was taken into custody in connection to multiple armed robberies of students at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Dominique Emmanuel Wilson, of Ypsilanti, is charged with three counts of armed robbery.

Police say the arrest is in connection with three armed robberies from January and February and stems from an on-going investigation. Students walking alone were targeted by a man armed with a handgun wearing a bandana.

Cash, credit cards and cell phones were taken in each of the robberies. None of the victims were injured.

Authorities say detectives were able to link Wilson with forensic evidence from a crime scene.

Wilson was taken into custody Friday.

Resources from the University of Michigan Police Department, the Michigan State Police and the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team were provided to the Ann Arbor Police Department in the investigation.
