3 baby woodchucks found in car engine compartment

Babies being cared for until they are old enough to be released

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Three healthy baby woodchucks have been rescued from a car engine compartment.

Deb Kern, marketing director for the Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, said the babies were found by a couple who heard noises coming from their car after parking it in their Ypsilanti driveway.

Kern said the babies are being cared for at Help 4 Wildlife, and will be released once they are old enough to survive on their own.
