3 Clawson High School students charged with sexual assault

Suspects charged with making cellphone video of sex acts with 15-year-old

CLAWSON, Mich. – Charges have been brought against three former Clawson High School students after cellphone video of sex acts involving a 15-year-old girl surfaced.

Police said 17-year-old Travion Terrell Watkins, of Pontiac, 17-year-old Kheimoni Slaton, of Clawson, and 18-year-old Terry Daniel Watts, of Pontiac, admitted to engaging in multiple sex acts with the girl last Oct. 9 in a home in the 300 block of Kinross.

Six days later, one of the suspects started showing the video to classmates, police said. It was the other students who reported the video to police.

Watkins, Slaton and Watts are all facing multiple charges of criminal sexual conduct and have been ordered to wear a GPS tether if they make bond.

Their next court date is March 14.

Statement from Clawson Superintendent Monique Beels:

"We did not change any policy or procedures as a result of this incident. In fact, it was due to our district focus on building relationships with students and parents that this incident came to our attention. We will continue to reinforce relationships with students, parents and law enforcement within our district, so that if an incident occurs, students and parents know where to turn and who to contact in our schools.  Building trust in our community is the most proactive way to keep students safe."
