7-year-old girl shot in neck while sleeping in grandmother's arms at Detroit home

Girl is in critical condition at Children's Hospital

DETROIT – A 7-year-old girl is in critical condition at Children's Hospital after she was shot in her neck Monday night at a home in the 2900 block of Monterey Street in Detroit.

There appears to be a bullet hole through the front window of the home. The shooting happened about 11:15 p.m. Monday. 

Detroit police said it's possible the home was targeted. The girl was sleeping on a couch with her grandmother in the front room of the home. Bullets started flying into the home and the girl was struck in the neck. She was rushed to Children's Hospital. 

Detroit police are looking for a suspect. They may have an idea who is responsible.
