Ambulance struck in crash on Detroit's west side, police say

Ambulance en route to emergency with lights, sirens on when struck

DETROIT – An ambulance was involved in a crash on Detroit's west side Sunday night.

Police said the ambulance was en route to an emergency with lights and sirens on when a woman in a rental car hit the side of the ambulance at Tireman Avenue and Northfield Street.

Police said the woman was speeding at the time of the cras and was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

 

The ambulance crew was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
