Another mental evaluation ordered for Detroit mom in murder case

Semeria Greene, 26, charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse

DETROIT - Semeria Green, a Detroit mother accused of stabbing her 8-year-old daughter to death, was found incompetent Wednesday to stand trial. However, a second independent evaluation has been ordered and the results are scheduled to be revealed in another hearing on May 29.

Greene is charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse in death of her daughter Tameria Greene.

The petition was filed in a neglect case involving Greene's other children -- four sons.

It says the boy told child advocacy workers that she "had a big knife and cut his sister and his mother killed Ti-Ti."

People living at the Martin Luther King Apartments say this is a death that could have been avoided.

"That little girl, every time I go to school every morning, when I take my daughter to school, that little girl went up to me and gave me a hug," said neighbor Dion Carter.

Carter said police had been at the home several times.

"I know they got that stuff on record. Look at the file, how many times were police here? There have been times when the door was wide open and the kids were in there by themselves," he said.
