Braille book created by NASA allows solar eclipse to be experienced by blind, visually impaired

Solar eclipse will happen Aug. 21

CHARLESTON, S.C. – A book created by NASA  and professors at the College of Charleston in South Carolina will allow those who are visually impaired to “see” the solar eclipse on Aug. 21.

The Braille book will let people who are blind or visually impaired feel what they can’t see so they can experience what will be happening in the sky.

“Getting a Feel for Solar Eclipses” describes the positions the sun, Earth and moon will be in during the eclipse.
