Businesses in Grosse Pointe Woods evacuated after apparent underground electrical explosion

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. - Businesses in Grosse Pointe Woods were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after an underground electrical explosion.

According to the Grosse Pointe Woods Department of Public Safety, the explosion closed southbound Mack Avenue at Bournemouth Road.

Police asked the public to avoid the area.

Businesses near the site were evacuated.
