LOS ANGELES - A California restaurant is looking to make dinner a little more personal.

The Eva Restaurant in Los Angeles is offering customers a five percent discount for device-free dining – meaning, customers must leave their cell phones with staff when they are seated.

The restaurant says the move is an attempt to create an environment where diners can connect with each other instead of technology.

Chef Mark Gold says about half of diners have taken the restaurant up on their offer.
