CANTON, Mich. - For Olympic ice dancing champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White, the Olympic whirlwind continues.
On Sunday, a crowd of several hundred fans gathered in Canton to welcome the Olympians home.
Davis and White train at the Arctic Edge of Canton, and Sunday said they have felt the love for a long time.
They were honored by Canton Township for being the first American ice dance team to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympics. Township supervisor Phil LaJoy presented them with resolutions, flowers and gifts.
Canton also had their Olympic rings for them. They surprised Davis and White with them during the ceremony. They are the first U.S. Olympians to get them since the Winter Games ended in Sochi, Russia.
Local 4's Steve Garagiola emceed the event.
While living in the moment, Davis and White said they're already thinking about the future.
They acknowledge that shooting for a comeback for a third Olympics would be a long-term commitment, they also said that there will come a day that they will eventually move on to other things.
