DETROIT – Giordano’s Pizza, famous for their Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, appears to opening a Downtown Detroit location.

There has been no formal announcement from the pizza chain, but pizza fanatics are already excited. They also appear to confirm the location with a job posting from about 3 weeks ago.

Giordano's confirmed the opening with Local 4, but did not offer an opening date.

This would be the pizza chain's second Michigan location, after opening in Holland last year.

Some folks aren't as thrilled:

Based in Chicago, Giordano’s Famous Stuffed Pizza has been serving its world-famous pizza since 1974, when founders and immigrants brothers Efren and Joseph Boglio introduced their mother’s stuffed pizza recipe to Chicago.

Becoming one of the originators of what is now internationally known as Chicago-style Stuffed Deep Dish pizza, Giordano’s has locations throughout the Midwest, Florida, Arizona and Nevada and is also available for shipping anywhere in the continental United States.
