PONTIAC, Mich. – Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper filed an emergency motion this week in an effort to protect the Cipriano murder case and to stop members of the Cipriano family from talking to the media before the trial begins.
The prosecutor's concern is that statements made by the family could taint potential jurors. The battle between family members and Cooper made headlines last week when family members started a wave of media interviews in which they blasted Cooper for refusing to negotiate a plea deal in the Trucker Cipriano and Mitchell Young case.

The prosecutor says she cannot let Tucker Cipriano and Young get off easy. In an interview from Friday, the family said a trial would be emotionally exhausting and they will continue to fight.
"She may think she has the last word on a plea, but this fight is not over," said Greg Cipriano, Tucker's uncle.
While the Ciprianos are ordered to stay quiet for now, Tucker's uncle believes the public will determine who was right once this is over.
"She is an elected official and she is elected by the people in this community, and the people in this community are not happy at all and there is going to be a bombardment of her office of people in an uproar, and maybe she'll start to listen and remember who put her there. So, we're not done yet," said Greg Cipriano.
Cipriano family supporters have been blowing up various blogs. Some are calling for a recall effort of Cooper once the trial is done.
However, Cooper herself has many supporters who believe a deal should not be offered to someone accused of beating his own family members with a baseball bat.
Jury selection will continue Wednesday. Tucker Cipriano and Young both face 1st degree murder charges.
