DETROIT – Court was adjourned Wednesday for the two men accused of attacking and burning a pregnant Detroit woman.
The lawyer for co-defendant Anthony Mathis had a medical emergency and was not able to attend the proceedings.

Circuit Court Judge Matthew Sabaugh adjourned the case until Friday, Oct 12th.
The case centers around a Detroit woman who was abducted, burned and shot while nine months pregnant. She had been expected to testify against the two men who are charged in the crimes.
Jamal Rogers and Mathis are facing a slew of charges for the July incident involving 22-year-old Latonya Bowman.
Police said Bowman and Rogers - - who is the child's father - - were at a home in Warren when a gun was put to Bowman's head, she was also blindfolded and bound with duct tape.

She was then driven in her own SUV to a vacant house in Detroit, doused in lighter fluid and set on fire. Police said as Bowman tried to roll on the ground to put out the flames, she was shot in the shoulder. As she lay burning and wounded, she played dead until her two attackers fled, police said. She then drove herself to a gas station, then her mother's house before she was taken to a hospital.
She has since given birth to a baby boy.
Rogers and Mathis are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit homicide, felony firearm, unlawful imprisonment and conspiracy to commit unlawful imprisonment.
Investigators say Rogers allegedly didn't want to have a third child with a third woman.
