DETROIT - Derrick Miller has been given 100 years to pay back $240,858 in restitution he owes the IRS.
U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmund ordered Miller to make a minimum payment of $200 a month beginning Aug. 1.
Miller grew up with former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, worked in his inner circle and became an important witness at his corruption trial.
Miller pleaded guilty in 2011 to taking kickbacks from a real estate broker, money he shared with Kilpatrick. He was also convicted of tax evasion.
While Kilpatrick is serving a 28-year prison sentence, Miller was sentenced in May to serve a year in a halfway house and two years of supervised probation.
