Detroit Lions fan banned from Ford Field after racist social media post

DETROIT – A Detroit Lions fan who made a racist post on Snapchat has been banned from Ford Field.

The fan also has surrendered his season tickets after he posted a photo of two other fans sitting during the National Anthem on Sunday, Sept. 10. The post included a caption with racial slurs.

The woman shown in the photo said she joined the National Anthem protest last season when NFL players started it to bring awareness to social justice. She never expected this kind of reaction.

"I just figured it was just my protest and it was something I was doing and it wouldn't affect anyone around me. So I just thought that would be some small part of the big picture," said the woman, identified as Stacey.

Stacey said she is satisfied with the outcome. She plans to continue her protest.
