DETROIT - The Detroit Medical Center on Tuesday announced that Rodney "Rod" N. Huebbers is the organization's new president and chief operating officer.
Huebbers comes to Detroit from Vanguard's Baptist Health System, where he served as chief operating officer since August 2010.
The DMC said Huebbers brings an array of experience in hospital operations and will work directly with DMC hospital presidents to focus on future strategies and enhance operations.
"It is exciting to bring his level of experience and commitment to the Detroit Medical Center market. This is a great system and he is going to help us achieve even greater things," said DMC CEO Joe Mullany.
Huebbers earned a B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy, an MBA in Health Care Finance from Bryant College in Rhode Island and completed a Community Health Fellowship at the Health Care Forum Leadership Institute in San Diego, California.
