Officer arraigned on domestic violence charge

DETROIT - A Detroit police officer has been suspended with pay after being arraigned Friday in Highland Park on a domestic violence charge, Detroit Police Director Michael Woody said.

Police Chief James Craig plans to submit paperwork to the Detroit Police Board of Commissioners to change the suspension of Kwame Powell to not include pay, Woody said.

The board will meet Thursday to consider the request.
