Detroit police release pictures of men sought in connection with WSU murder case

Tiane Brown found shot to death Oct. 30

DETROIT – Detroit police have released pictures and video of two men they are looking for in connection with the shooting death of a Wayne State University law student and mother of three.

Police are not calling the men in the pictures suspects in Tiane Brown's death, but said they may have information.

Brown was found dead Oct. 30 in her SUV near the old Packard Plant, a day after her parents reported her missing because she did not pick up her children.

Brown had three young girls ages one, eight and 14; the children are now with the victim's mother. On Thursday, the family spoke out about spending Christmas without their loved one.

"It's really been tough for all of us," Tiane's mother Sheryl Jones said. "The hardest part is trying to understand why it really happened."

Jones says the release of the surveillance videos and pictures are like a Christmas present because they help police take another step towards justice for her daughter's death. The police are asking for the public's help finding the two men in the video that might have information about the suspect.

"I'm looking forward to the public helping us bring closure to this," Tiane's father Nate Jones said.

The family says that all the support has helped them stay strong and enjoy the holiday season despite the death.

Anyone with information on the men is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAKUP. Callers can remain anonymous.
