DETROIT – The Detroit Public Schools Community District announced all Detroit public schools will be closed Thursday due to severe weather.
The following message was posted to the district website: "Due to the severe winter storm, all DPSCD campuses and central office locations will be closed Thursday, December 14, 2017."
A severe weather alert was issued Wednesday as the Local 4Casters predicted 5-8 inches of snow throughout much of the area.
DPSCD announced before 8 p.m. Wednesday that school is canceled for Thursday.
