Detroit school among 'coolest' in America, according to Parent & Child Magazine

Chrysler Elementary School of Journalism is 1 of 2 Michigan schools on list

DETROIT - Detroit Public School's Chrysler Elementary School of Journalism is being called one of America's coolest schools.

Chrysler is one of 25 schools across the nation that made Parent and Child Magazine list of the "Coolest Schools in America."

The schools are featured in the August/September issue of the Scholastic publication for having found "ways to engage students, families and communities inside the classroom by thinking outside the box."

Chrysler Elementary, a PreK-5 program that has a focus on writing in all academic areas and is widely known for having published student authors.

The other Michigan school was the John Ball Zoo School in Grand Rapids Michigan.
