DETROIT – A Detroit woman has been charged in connection with a deadly crash on Jefferson Avenue, police said.

Lisa Haskins-Baggs, 53, was driving east on Jefferson Avenue around 8:05 p.m. Thursday when she veered into the westbound lanes and struck an oncoming vehicle, according to officials.

The driver of the other vehicle, Eunice Person, 77, of Detroit, was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.

Haskins-Baggs was placed in custody while in the hospital, police said.

She is charged with reckless driving causing death and operating a vehicle with a suspended, revoked or denied license causing death.

Haskins-Baggs is expected to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. Friday in 36th District Court.
