DPSCD to dismiss students early Tuesday due to high temperatures in forecast

Detroit Public Schools Community District to follow half-day dismissal schedule

DETROIT – Detroit Public Schools Community District students will be dismissed after a half day Tuesday due to high temperatures, the district announced Monday.

"All DPSCD schools will follow the half day dismissal schedule for Tuesday, September 26 due to near record high temperatures this fall. Please ensure that all students attend school as teaching and learning is still expected. Temperatures are expected to range up to the mid-90s. The half day early dismissal schedule is for school-based staff and students. All Central Office staff must remain at work the full work day.

"In addition, all afternoon sports and training are canceled Tuesday. For a list of half day dismissal times, please visit the school profile pages at detroitk12.org.

"Based on current weather predictions, we expect to return to our regular schedule on Wednesday."
