The power outage stemmed from a substation fire on July 17 in the area of 13 Mile and Woodward. The energy company cut power to thousands while they worked on repairs. They haven't said exactly what caused the fire but think it could have been excessive heat that contributed to an equipment malfunction.

Some of customers were without power for nearly two days.

Those getting the credit should see it on their bill within two to three months.
