Dundee woman with mental illness found at hospital

DUNDEE, Mich. - Dundee police have located 20-year-old Saidie Hopkins at St. Joseph Hospital in Howell after she'd been missing since around 7 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say Saidie was seen by two fisherman just outside of Howell. She was taken to the hospital and is being checked out there.

Investigators were concerned about Saidie Hopkins because she has a closed head injury. Police say they exhausted all resources searching throughout Friday night but didn't find her until Sunday.

Dundee and Summerfield Volunteer Fire Department members searched the banks of the River Raisin and the surrounding areas without finding Saidie. Authorities also searched the area on foot and canvassed nearby neighborhoods and businesses.

Michigan State Police assisted with a follow up investigation and possible leads.
