Eastpointe man killed in crash on Metropolitan Parkway

Police say victim may have had medical emergency that caused him to lose control

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - An Eastpointe man was killed Tuesday morning in a crash on Metropolitan Parkway.

Sterling Heights police said the man may have had a medical emergency before losing control of the Chevrolet Astro van he was driving near Schoenherr and crashing into a ditch.

He was rushed to an area hospital, but died.

Police said there were two passengers in the van,  a 20-year-old and 21-year-old. One of them suffered minor injuries.

Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
