DETROIT – Sunday will be a bit warmer and remain dry in Detroit. Hurricane Harvey is now Tropical Storm Harvey extended periods of rain in Texas and Louisiana.

Sunday morning will be quite cool and brisk in Detroit and Southeast Michigan. Temps start in the 40s and mid 50s under mostly sunny skies. Dry roads for families going to and from morning services and activities.
Weather remains good for fans of the hydroplane races off Belle Isle. The APBA Gold Cup is the prize under partly sunny skies, warm conditions and a light east-southeasterly wind 4 to 9 knots. Highs will be in the middle and upper 70s on the island and throughout the rest of Detroit and Southeast Michigan.
Sunday evening will be partly to mostly cloudy and cool with temps near 70 degrees.
Sunday night will be mostly cloudy and cool. Overnight lows will be in the low 60s.
A frontal system arrives Monday with scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Daytime temps will be in the middle and upper 70s. Some showers and storms will be heavy with gusty winds and frequent lighting during the afternoon commute and during dinnertime.
Tuesday will have morning and midday showers. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.
Wednesday and the rest of the week will be drier and brighter. Temps will be in the upper 70s Wednesday. Mid 70s will be the highs Thursday and Friday with mostly sunny skies. Arts, Beats and Eats in Royal Oak and The Detroit Jazz fest will have great weather over the weekend.
Hurricane Harvey
Hurricane Harvey is now Tropical Storm Harvey. It remains a dangerous system because of flooding and several thunderstorms spiraling around its center. It continues to spin over South and East Texas for several additional hours and days. West Louisiana is affected, too.
The storm continues to stradle the Texas coastline, feeding off the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. It's the reason why rain will come down in buckets.
An immense overabundance of water will be a significant problem for days, even weeks. Storm surge is over 6 feet. Rainfall will be measured in feet, not inches. Many models have rain totals nearing 3 feet by next Wednesday. Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana will become the Gulf of Mexico.

Sunday: Showers arrive. Air Temp: Low 70s; Water Temp: 72; Waves: 0-1 ft.; Wind: ESE 5-10 kts.
Lake St. Clair
Sunday: Showers arrive. Air Temp: Low 70s; Water Temp: 71; Waves: 0-1 ft.; Wind: ESE 5-10 kts.
Lake Huron
Sunday: Showers arrive. Air Temp: Low 70s; Water Temp: 68; Waves: 0-1 ft.; Wind: ESE 5-10 kts.

Sunday: Showers arrive, cool and raw. Highs in low, mid 60s.
Upper Peninsula
