Farmington Hills substitute teacher sentenced for drinking at school

Patricia Ann Mazurkiewicz admitted to 'Error in judgment'

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – A veteran teacher, Patricia Ann Mazurkiewicz, told Local 4 she made "an error in judgment".

She was sentenced Monday for possession of alcohol on school grounds and being a disorderly person.

The 59-year-old was arrested inside O.E. Dunckel Middle School in Farmington Hills in November 2013.

Officials believe she may have arrived at the school drunk.

However, Farmington Hills Police who were called to the school that day said she was drinking inside the school.  The official police report reads:  Mazurkiewicz did posess/consume alcohol at Dunckel Middle School and acting disorderly.

Outside of court, a friend of Mazurkiewicz said she had a long career teaching the deaf until -- what she is calling her error in judgment -- she decided to drink inside this school and act disorderly in front of students.
