OCEOLA TOWNSHIP, Mich – A Fenton man was charged Wednesday in connection to a crash in Oceola Township that killed five people on May 9.

Matthew Jordan Carrier is charged with five counts of second-degree murder, five counts of operating while intoxicated causing death, two counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, five counts of driving with a suspended license causing death and two counts of driving with a suspended license causing serious injury.
The crash happened on M-59 at Argentine Road.
Michigan State Police said one of the vehicles was traveling at a very high rate of speed southbound on Argentine Road and blew through a stop sign at M-59. That vehicle struck a car which was traveling eastbound on M-59.Â
