FLINT, Mich. - Rapper Snoop Dogg met with Mayor Karen Weaver on Saturday during a water drive in Flint.
During the meeting, he wore a ‘Flint Lives Matter’ shirt.
“I’m a busy man,” Snoop said. “I could have been anywhere, but I chose to be here today and it’s about choices.”
He met with Weaver to find out how he could get involved.
“I have a lot of information to take back to my celebrity friends and people around the world who want to help, but mainly we’d like the governor to step up and do what’s necessary to make sure flint tis taken care of,” Snoop said.
Many celebrities have gotten involved in water donation efforts or pledged their support.
Actor Jussie Smollett, star of Empire, spoke to Flint residents about their struggles.
Jon Connor, rapper and Flint native has been providing his support.
“It’s amazing,” Connor said. “I think everybody shares the same sentiment as me. Before they were entertainers, they were humans just growing up in a community.”
