Fraser grocery store suing government over seized money

IRS seizes funds from Schott's Market, charges not filed, money never returned

Headline Goes Here

FRASER, Mich. - The owners of a family grocery store in Fraser are suing the government for taking all of their money and then refusing to give it back.

Terry and Sandy Dehko own Schott's Market on 14 Mile between Garfield and Utica.

Last year the IRS took a close look at their books and afterwards gave them a clean bill of health.

But nine months later, the IRS cleaned out Terry and Sandy's bank accounts claiming their frequent cash deposits violated federal structuring laws.

No charges were ever filed against the Dehkos but their money was never returned.
