NORTHVILLE, Mich. – The memorial card for 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish reads, "Sorry I had to leave in a sudden kind of way."
It's a reality that's setting in for hundreds of friends and family.
"It's a terrible thing we have to be here today," said Bobbish family friend, Chuck Aneiros.
Hours before the service even began, groups of people poured into the funeral at the ay at Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church for ourdan Bobbish. The parking lot full as hundreds of people attended the service, their hearts heavy.
"I helped pass out the flyers," said Aneiros. "I will be here for here for the family any way I can."
Chuck is close friend of the family wore a black arm band in memory of both Jourdan and Jacob.
He helped with the nearly week long search for the teens and is now here to help lay Jourdan to rest.
"This will be some sort of closure but I hope this sends a message to other kids to watch where they're going," Anieros said.
The bodies of the two Westland teens were discovered in a field on Detroit's east side last Friday. They both had been shot in the back of the head.
Jacob's mother, Virgie Kudla, making no statement, walked into the service for her son's friends surrounded by loved ones.
"I was with those two day and night, sun up to sun down," said the teens' high school friend Tyler Johnson. "I just can't believe I'm here and they're not going to be."
Kudla's family will have visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Livonia with a public service starting at 11 a.m.
