Gibraltar Trade Center to close doors for good this weekend

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – It's a tearful goodbye for some as Gibraltar Trade Center in Mount Clemens prepares to close its doors for good Sunday.

Since 1980, the weekend market has been a place shoppers could find everything they need -- and then some.

"I've got some clothes and I got some throwing knives. Throwing knives? Who needs throwing knives? I do," Kristen Hoffman said.

Hoffman had bags full of items Saturday as she shopped before the market closes up shop.

Nick Kanothia, of one of the longest tenured vendors, Nicki and Nicki T-Shirts, couldn't bring himself to talk about the market's closing.

Gibraltar is closing the quirky weekend shopping center with a car show Sunday.

The market's website will list the new locations of vendors after this weekend so shoppers can find them.
