DETROIT - Kwame Kilpatrick's uncle Marvelle Cheek says Kwame Kilpatrick looks good - real good.

Detroit's ex-mayor could be seen Thursday smiling and tapping his heart and mouthing the words much love to supporters who stood outside federal court.

Kwame was in court along with Bobby Ferguson and his father Bernard Kilpatrick all asking for acquittals in their convictions - arguing the jury got it wrong the judge said no

Next,  all three defendants argued they should have a new trial Kwame saying  his attorney had conflicts because his law firm was suing Detroit for fraud well he represented Kilpatrick against fraud charges the judge again saying no to all three defendants

All three defendants are expected to appeal the judge's decision.  Kwame Kilpatrick is the first scheduled for sentencing that is to take place on

Sept. 3 before District Judge Nancy G. Edmunds. Ferguson will be sentenced the next day.

In March, Kilpatrick was found guilty of 24 charges.

He's been imprisoned, and denied release several times, while awaiting his sentencing date. He could get 20 years in prison for the racketeering convictions alone.
