MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – This past Saturday, members of the Mount Clemens Kiwanis Club were picking up trash along Interstate 94. They gathered 70 bags worth of litter.
Among the garbage, Teresa Randolph spotted something that was no throwaway.
"It was lying on the apron and the shoulder of the road. I picked it up and thought it was a telephone," she said.
She found the camera just east of the North River Road entrance ramp. The point-and-shoot was in perfect condition with 162 photos included, many of which were of swimming pools.
"I would like it to go back to its rightful owner," Randolph said.
She contacted Local 4. Pictures were placed on ClickOnDetroit.com and the Local 4 Facebook page. The break in this mystery came after just a couple of minutes.

One of the photos posted is of a pool being closed for the season. Nancy Aird owns the pool. Her son's friend recognized it here on ClickOnDetroit.com.
"He said, 'Scroll on the pictures and down to the very last picture,' I did and said, 'That's our swimming pool!' He says, 'Yeah, I know, mom,'" Aird said.
She gave Local 4 the number for Joe Henry of Viscount Pools. Henry is the man Aird hired for the job. The camera belongs to him. How did it get on the freeway?
"I was putting chemicals and what not into my truck and I must have set it down on the back bumper," he said.
Henry thought at first that someone had stolen the camera. Instead, someone found it -- a kind Kiwanian.
Randolph hands the camera to a grateful Henry.
