The mayor is expected to announce an incentive attached to the city’s Good Neighbor Program. Officials say that individuals who drive Detroit residents to receive a COVID vaccination will be given a pre-paid debit card for each resident they bring to “reimburse their time and costs.”

Officials say Mayor Duggan is also expected to announce new locations for Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine sites now that experts have said it is safe to resume administering the vaccine. States were advised to pause use of the J&J vaccine following six reports -- out of seven million shots -- of a rare blood clot disorder. After reviewing the cases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the Food and Drug Administration, have advised states to resume administration of the J&J vaccine to help fight the pandemic.
