Rain, snow, high winds expected to hit SE Michigan on Friday -- Here’s what to expect

A wintry mix is expected to hit Metro Detroit beginning Friday.

In addition to the accumulation, a High Wind Advisory has been issued for all of Southeast Michigan on March 13 from 5 a.m. through 8 p.m.

1-3 inches in some areas

Minor accumulations are expected as far south as I-94, but better chances for snow are mainly north of M-59 with an estimated 1 to 3 inches.

We could see flakes as early as midnight, but a more widespread wintry mix will arrive before daybreak. Most will push out by 9 a.m. with isolated flurries through the afternoon.

High winds

Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph will be possible on Friday.
