1 dead, another critical after crash in east Detroit

Police say driver blew through stop sign at East Warren Avenue, Seyburn Street

DETROIT – One person was killed and another is in critical condition after a crash Wednesday afternoon on Detroit's east side.

Detroit police say a silver sedan blew through a stop sign at the intersection of East Warren Avenue and Seyburn Street and collided with a Cadillac. Police were initiating a chase when the driver of the sedan decided to blow through the stop sign.

One passenger in the silver sedan was killed and another was badly injured. The driver was arrested a short time later.

No one in the Cadillac was injured.
