DETROIT – The North American International Auto Show in Detroit is in full effect and the event opened with its strongest first day attendance in five years.
According to Chairman Bill Perkins, more than 92,000 people attended the event on Saturday, topping last year's number of more than 86,000. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend the event during the next week.

The auto show runs through Sunday, January 22.
