Baby sent to hospital after being shot on Detroit's east side

The child was hit when a suspect fired shots into the home on Rossini Drive

DETROIT – A 15-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital after being shot inside a home on Detroit's east side.

Just before midnight on Friday, an unknown suspect fired shots into a residence on the 15700 block of Rossini Drive. The 15-month-old baby girl was inside the home and one of the bullets hit her in the cheek.

According to Detroit Police, there is no known motive for the shooting. There is no description of the suspect or the vehicle.

The baby was taken to a local hospital where she is listed in temporary serious condition. Detroit Police are still investigating the incident.
