Detroit – The Belle Isle bridge was shut down for several hours Saturday night after a van flipped over.
According to Detroit police, the driver of the van lost control heading off of the island.

Witnesses said the van hit the wall and then flipped. The three men inside the van ran away after the crash.
Police closed the bridge during the accident investigation and to remove the van.
Police said there was heavy traffic on the island because of the unseasonably warm weather.
