Body parts found at home in west Detroit

Neighbor finds human foot behind home on Freeland Street

DETROIT - Body parts have been found behind a house on Freeland Street just off Fenkell Street in west Detroit.

A neighbor noticed a strong odor coming from the home Friday afternoon, walked around back to the garage and found a human foot.

Police arrived and found the foot and a man's head. Investigators say the body parts wee stuffed in buckets, buried and partly covered with concrete.

Police say the man who lives at the home is known by neighbors and he may be a squatter. He hasn't been heard from for days and the body parts may be his.
