Burned body found in vacant Detroit school

Identity unknown as police investigation continues

DETROIT – A badly burned, decapitated body was discovered in an abandoned school Sunday afternoon.

According to Detroit Police, a tip from Crime Stoppers led to the discovery of the body inside the vacant school located on the Southfield Service Drive just north of Warren Avenue on the city's west side.

Detroit Police say the body was burned beyond recognition.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner's office will have to determine the cause of death and identify the body.
